Arrival is the new sci-fi film from the director of Sicario and Prisoners Denis Villeneuve
A lot of people thought the Sicario director was just working on the Blade Runner sequel. Before he releases one of the most anticipated sci-fi sequels of all time, he shows us that the science-fiction is no problem at all, it’s just another genre.
Villeneuve is the one of the best directors working today. In the handful of films that he has released, they have all been of top quality. He has also tackled multiple genres, already proving that he is capable of just about any style of filmmaking. I have enjoyed all of his movies to-date, even, Enemy which I know a lot of people found confusing AF.
The trailer for Arrival looks very impressive. We are long overdue a decent alien encounter film and this one looks like it ticks all the right boxes. Although we get to see the aliens in the trailer, we still have no idea what is going to happen.
It doesn’t look like Arrival is going to be very gruesome but it sure does looks like a great sci-fi drama. It looks like Arrival could be one of the best sci-fi movies of the year
Arrival stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker and will be coming to theatres November 11, 2016.
When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team – lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) – is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.
