Kim Jee-woon, director of serial killer classic I SAW THE DEVIL is back with new live-action adaptation of Anime classic
Director, Kim Jee-woon has remained one of my all-time favourite directors for years. His Choi Min-sik starring serial killer movie, I Saw The Devil has sat proudly on the top of my neverending pile of serial killer flicks; nothing has come close to the breathless and relentless mayhem from that film.
Now director Kim Jee-woon is back, only this time with a remake of a classic Anime. Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade was first released in 1999 and shocked viewers to the core because of its hardcore gun violence. There’s a lot of people getting torn in half with machine gun fire; there’s also a lot of limbs lost due to terror bombing.
This sounds like a perfect fit for Kim Jee-woon as the violence he portrays on-screen is both realistic and equally gut-wrenching.
Now, we have the first two official posters to share with you all. I am a sucker for a great poster, sometimes that’s all it takes to sell me on a film.
Both these posters, to me, just make my mouth water. I can’t think of a better director to tackle such a dark and daring movie.
OFFICIAL PLOT (Google)
The movie “Jin-Roh” is about those in society who are predators among prey. But these “beasts” never bother to change their shape; like Red Riding Hood’s wolf, they merely drape themselves with human clothes that do not even disguise the eyes, teeth and claws of a killer. Society rightly fears them. In “Jin-Roh,” the Capital Police are themselves hunted — marked for elimination as a force by their own government, and by a public eager to forget the past.

Other films from Kim Jee-woon you may want to check out:
- A Bittersweet Life
- The Good The Bad And The Weird
- A Tale Of Two Sisters
- The Empire Of The Shadows
All the abovementioned films are fantastic and are all mixed genres. This proves the fact that director Kim Jee-woon is capable of tackling just about anything film-related. Maybe it is time for you to go on a movie-binge of all his films?. You won’t regret it.
