Grotesque is one of the only modern horror films that I know of that was refused a rating by the BBFC due to its cruel and sadistic content, and therefore banned.
So, I got my hands on it anyways and watched it by myself which I am glad of. If you put on a film like Grotesque and you’re not with like-minded people who also enjoy the same sort of sick, movies, then you’re going to be looked at as some sort of twisted individual that is into some sick shit, and they wouldn’t be wrong.
The plot is simple , boy meets girl , boy and girl get hit on head with hammer by a mad doctor – Doc throws them into the back of a van and takes them to a secluded area, and begins to make their lives a living hell, by inflicting some of the worst and unimaginable torture that anyone will ever see on film.
If you’re a fan of gruesome, so-called, torture-porn movies, then I would highly recommend Grotesque, it really can’t get any more gruesome, hence the title – Grotesque.
Grotesque’s main strength is that it does not try to do anything else other shock you. The film rely’s heavily on shock-value and to gross you out.
If you’re the sort of person who likes a good ole splatter-fest, then Grotesque is the one for you…..you just got to remember, folks – it ain’t rea.
