UPDATED: Jeremy Saulnier’s HOLD THE THE DARK Is Now On Netflix

Jeremy Saulnier’s new Netflix thriller Hold The Dark premieres soon @ TIFF, we now have a fantastic trailer to share with you all.

UPDATED AND EDITED ARTICLE

We have been huge fans of Jeremy Saulnier since his directorial debut Murder Party. He then went on, remortgaged his house and made a small revenge movie called Blue Ruin and hoped for the best. Starring Macon Blair as Dwight, Blue Ruin was a revenge tale and it was a huge hit @ Sundance Film Festival and catapulted Saulnier to become one of the best indie directors working in the industry today.

Saulnier then got to make his life-long dream project, Green Room. A brutal and unforgiving movie about a punk band who get trapped in a large warehouse after witnessing a bunch of white supremacists murder someone. Patrick Stewart leads the group of Nazi’s in what I think was his first sinister role ever.  Anton Yelchin (RIP) was our main punk rocker. It was violent, unpredictable and unlike anything, we had seen in years.

Saulnier was also signed on to direct one half of True Detective Season 3. It was later reported that he had to leave the project and only directed two-episodes, which ones I am not sure.

Which now brings me to his next feature

I am so excited about this. Hold The Dark is a new Netflix original available to stream now. and is based on a book of the same name by  William Giraldi. The screenplay was written by Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore, Small Crimes and star of Blue Ruin).

Jeremy Saulnier’s new film stars Alexander Skarsgård, James Bloor,  Riley Keough, Jeffrey Wright, and James Badge Dale

The story follows a wolf expert called Russell Core. He is called in to investigate the disappearance of three children who have been taken by a pack of wolves.  As the death toll rises, Core realises that there is something more sinister going on. Teamed with a local detective, they set out to the blood-soaked, harsh Alaskan wilderness in search of answers.
