Rob Zombie Making Sequel To The Devil’s Rejects

The Devil's Rejects

Rob Zombie has announced that he is making a sequel to 2005’s horror/road classic The Devil’s Rejects.

It’s about time, Rob!

I know what you’re all thinking…”didn’t they all die in The Devil’s Rejects“?. Short answer, yes but that doesn’t mean he can’t do some film wizardry and make that never happen. It’s what his fans have wanted since 2005, so he knows he got to bring them all back somehow.

Rob Zombie’s last film, simply titled, 31 was met with a lot of mixed reviews. 31, wasn’t the horror that I hoped it would be, or most hoped it would be for that matter. It never let me down in regards to violence and gruesomeness, it just lacked originality and any sort of characters you could care about.

I think Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects is his best work to date. I am sure you’re all aware that TDR is a sequel of sorts to Zombie’s directorial debut The House Of A Thousand Corpses.

The Devil’s Rejects went down a completely different road.

Zombie made a sequel that wasn’t a sequel…does that make sense?. While The House Of A Thousand Corpses was colourful and camp, The Devil’s Rejects was a vicious road movie that felt like an apocalyptic western. The contrast between the two films couldn’t be more different, yet it worked on so many levels.

(SPOILERS) The Devil’s Rejects had one of the best endings EVER!. We watched our murderous anti-heroes drive into a hail of bullets towards certain death, listening to Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd (END OF SPOILERS).

The Devil’s Rejects starred Bill Moseley (Otis), Sid Haig (Captain Spaulding) and Sheri Moon Zombie (Baby).

No cast yet, but I will throw in a psychic guess that Sheri Moon Zombie’s ass gets a resurrection before any other character.

** Bloody Disgusting had the exclusive **

I am really looking forward to seeing where they take this story. More importantly, how they will resurrect the Firefly family. Will Dr. Satan get summoned to bring everyone’s favourite psychotic family back from the dead?; Or will Otis awaken, surrounded by decomposing corpses, and The Devil’s Rejects was all just a dream?.

When I find out, you guys will be the first to know.
As always, thanks for reading.
