Intouchables Remake

Well, it’s here. The trailer for the Hollywood reboot of one of my favourite comedies of all time THE INTOUCHABLES

I’m I impressed? to be honest, no, not at all. This trailer is everything I thought this reboot of The Intouchables would be and that is not a good thing. It seems they have added a lot to the story but it all just seems very generic.

Hey, maybe this will put people onto the original because I really can not recommend that film enough. It is one of the most natural and heartfelt comedies that I have ever seen.

If you’re feeling a little down-in-the-dumps, put on The Intouchables and I guarantee you, your worries will disappear…for the duration of the movie, that is!. I can’t help you after that…but you could just watch it again.

The original French film was released in 2011 and starred Francois Cluzet and Omar Sy. After a poor theatrical run, the rights were then bought by The Weinstein Company and they re-released it. If my knowledge is correct then The Intouchables is the second highest grossing French comedy of all time. Number 1 is a movie called Welcome to The Sticks. It has been year’s since I have written about this film so these “facts” may no longer be accurate.

So, what is it about?

Bryan Cranston plays a rich disabled man who is seeking home-help and full-time care. Kevin Hart’s character is then hired to look after him with no experience. The two of them bond and form an unlikely life-long friendship.

The film is based on a true story. “Based” on a true story. The French film was also based on the same story but this reboot is full of everything you’d expect it to be.

If you haven’t checked out the original then please stop what you’re doing and check it out at once. Who knows?, maybe if I wasn’t such a huge fan of the original then I may have wanted to check this out. But because I am a crackhead for the original, and it’s beautiful OST, I doubt I will get the same laughs and feels as I did with The Intouchables.

Enjoy the trailer. As always, thanks for reading.
