IT’s The Moment We’ve All Been Waiting For
In the past week IT director Andy Muschietti has shared some photos from the set of the upcoming Stephen King Remake.
The photos he shared bring back memories from the original 2-part tv horror series, and it has got me a little excited. IT is a long time coming – it’s done its stint in development hell.
We also got our first glance at Bill Skarsgard complete with full Pennywise make-up on. The look was different, and I wasn’t disappointed with the new vision. Problem was, you couldn’t see much, it was only a shot of the clown’s head.
Now Entertainment Weekly have shared a picture of Bill Skarsgard in full Pennywise gear.
This is him ladies and gentlemen, this is our new Pennywise
The outfit was designed by costume designer Janie Bryant who told Entertainment Weekly: “That pleating is actually Fortuny pleating, which gives it almost a crepe-like effect. It’s a different technique than what the Elizabethans would do. It’s more organic, it’s more sheer. It has a whimsical, floppy quality to it. It’s not a direct translation of a ruff or a whisk, which were two of the collars popular during the Elizabethan period.”
She then said: “There is almost a doll-like quality to the costume. The pants being short, the high waistline of the jacket and the fit of the costume is a very important element. It gives the character a child-like quality.”
Here is all of the other photos from the set of IT that was posted by director Andy Muschietti.
