First Look At Jake Gyllenhaal In New Horror From The Director Of Nightcrawler

Dan Gilroy, director of the superb NIGHTCRAWLER has reunited with actor Jake Gyllenhaal for new Netflix film VELVET BUZZSAW

Velvet Buzzsaw has been on my radar for a while. It featured in an upcoming Netflix article that focused on new films that will be hitting our streaming screens soon.

At the time of the article, there wasn’t a lot to go on regarding production development. All I had was one image: Gyllenhaal and Gilroy casually leaning against a car that has just been involved in a hit-&-run…and the body’s still trapped underneath (featured image at top).

I am a little late with posting this image. Thanks to all at Collider for putting Velvet Buzzsaw back on my radar. The film will have its premiere at next year’s Sundance Film Festival which runs from January 24th to February 3rd. It will then premiere on Netflix later in February 2019.

It focuses on the contemporary art scene in L.A. All I know is that someone steals a piece of art from a dead body and claims the piece to be their own work. The stolen art piece becomes the hottest thing on the art scene. But this newfound fame also comes with a price.

The new image looks more like a statement: The director of Nightcrawler is back and he has brought his cast with him. Check out the image below with Rene Russo and Jake Gyllenhaal in VELVET BUZZSAW.

Velvet Buzzsaw

No major body transformation going on but Gyllenhaal sure looks different. He has proved himself to be quite the actor throughout the years. In my opinion, Dan Gilroy got the best performance to date from him as Lou Bloom in Nightcrawler. I can not wait to see what he brings to the table with VELVET BUZZSAW.
