The director of Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind returns with new Netflix horror/comedy I Am Thinking Of Ending Things
Writer/director Charlie Kaufman also gave us the classics Being John Malkovich and Synecdoche New York starring the late and great Phillip Seymour Hoffman
I Am Thinking Of Ending Things hits Netflix on September 4th. Wow, I am thinking we can officially call September 4th “Day Of The Binge”. Not only do we get Kaufman’s new flick, but it is also the date that Amazon releases, The Boys season 2. We do know that the full season of The Boys won’t be available to stream right away, so we can just change to Netflix for I Am Thinking Of Ending Things
Kaufman’s new horror/comedy has quite the cast too. Toni Collette, David Thewlis, Jesse Buckley and Jesse Plemons star.
In true Kaufman style, I Am Thinking Of Ending Things looks odd and awkward. There is also an unusually eerie vibe to it. Plemons has proved to be great at awkward. He has shown us time and time again that this sort of oddball character was made for him. And, well, as for Toni Collette…I would watch anything with her in it. Especially, when she plays a psychotic farmer. I am all about that.
OFFICIAL PLOT (Netflix)
Despite second thoughts about their relationship, a young woman (Jessie Buckley) takes a road trip with her new boyfriend (Jesse Plemons) to his family farm. Trapped at the farm during a snowstorm with Jake’s mother (Toni Collette) and father (David Thewlis), the young woman begins to question the nature of everything she knew or understood about her boyfriend, herself, and the world.
