UPDATED ARTICLE: GO TO BOTTOM FOR POSTER & TRAILER
It was 1989 when Bill & Ted first rocked our screens in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Bill & Ted are high-school losers and wannabe rockstars under pressure to get their history exam finished. If they fail this class then it’s off to military school with their asses. Luckily for them, they find a phonebox that allows them to travel through time to meet the subjects of their history exam which resulted in the most excellent history paper ever written.
Then the time-travelling duo returned for Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991). They were killed by evil versions of themselves and got thrown into the afterlife to compete against the grim reaper and make it back to the real world.
Both of these movies were solid and remain among my all-time favourite films. I have to admit, I am scared that I am too old for Bill and Ted and their bumbling idiotic antics. One thing that is promising though is that these guys have aged – they’re old fucks too, just like the rest of us. It will be cool to see what these guys have been up to since their last adventure and what new adventures await them in Bill & Ted Face The Music
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter released a promo video a short while ago confirming that Bill & Ted is due to begin filming this summer.
In all seriousness though, these were goofy comedies that we all loved when growing up. I honestly think that one of the most important lines in cinematic history was born from these movies. It’s a line I believe has carried such relevance throughout the years because it is something we never do. That line is: “Be Excellent To Each Other”. So, if you’re reading this, do me a favour, go out of your way to be excellent to someone today!.
More information to follow on Bill & Ted Face The Music as it’s announced. As always, thanks for reading.,
