Colin Farrell To Star In New A24 Sci-Fi “After Yang”

Irish actor Colin Farrell has been confirmed to star in new A24 sci-fi called AFTER YANG

A24 has always been a reputable production company. Most of us with a brain knows that if a movie bears the A24 branding, then 9/10 times we’re in for something quite unique and captivating. With great titles under their belt like A Prayer Before Dawn, Hereditary, Lean On Pete, The Disaster Artist, Good Time, Moonlight, Swiss Army Man, Green Room, Ex Machina, Locke, The Rover…man, I could go on but you get the point, right?. They’re responsible for some of the greatest award-winning indie productions in recent years.

Colin Farrell will star in After Yang which is based on a short by Alexander Weinstein called Saying Goodbye To Yang. Deadline had the exclusive. Farrell plays a father who is trying to save a member of his family from dying. The only difference here is that this family member is also a robot. The film is set in a world where robots are bought and used to help parents with the chaos of childminding.

South Korean born filmmaker Kogonada  (Columbus) will direct and also write the script.

Farrell’s recent films include The Lobster, The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, and Widows. He is also starring in Tim Burton’s live-action adaptation of Disney’s classic DUMBO which is due to hit cinemas this summer.

A24 also have another sci-fi lined up for release starring Robert Pattinson called High-Life. The film focuses on a father and daughter who wake up during a space mission to find they’re on a ship with a crazy doctor and a load of death-row inmates. Co-starring Juliette Binoche, Andre (3000) Benjamin, and Mia Goth. High-Life is due for release this May
