A24 has always been a reputable production company. Most of us with a brain knows that if a movie bears the A24 branding, then 9/10 times we’re in for something quite unique and captivating. With great titles under their belt like A Prayer Before Dawn, Hereditary, Lean On Pete, The Disaster Artist, Good Time, Moonlight, Swiss Army Man, Green Room, Ex Machina, Locke, The Rover…man, I could go on but you get the point, right?. They’re responsible for some of the greatest award-winning indie productions in recent years.
Colin Farrell will star in After Yang which is based on a short by Alexander Weinstein called Saying Goodbye To Yang. Deadline had the exclusive. Farrell plays a father who is trying to save a member of his family from dying. The only difference here is that this family member is also a robot. The film is set in a world where robots are bought and used to help parents with the chaos of childminding.
South Korean born filmmaker Kogonada (Columbus) will direct and also write the script.
Farrell’s recent films include The Lobster, The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, and Widows. He is also starring in Tim Burton’s live-action adaptation of Disney’s classic DUMBO which is due to hit cinemas this summer.
