Big Trouble In Little China is just one of those films that went down in history as one of the all-time greats. Jack Burton, to-this-day is still one my most quotable characters – why?, because he is a smooth motherfucker, that’s why! and if I talk In Jack- Burtonese, then people listen!

Movie fans around the globe nearly shat a brick when it was announced that Dwayne Johnson will be taking on the iconic role of Jack Burton. It really does seem like there is nothing left for studios to do other than to regurgitate classics and target a younger audience, making some serious cash along the way.

As for Johnson getting cast as Jack Burton, I don’t know what to think. I have no problem with The Rock, The man is great at what he does, not my cup of tea at all, but I can totally understand why he is so popular and he  seems like a really cool guy.

In a recent interview The Rock shared his thoughts on the upcoming remake and why he thinks it is important to get Carpenter involved.. I really don’t have much hope for the remake – but I wish him the best of luck.

“I loved reading the reactions from the fans, that they were so polarized – I’m the same way. My response is: know that I come to the project with nothing but love and respect for the original, which is why we want to bring on John Carpenter. I loved the original when I was younger and I loved the main character – all the characters. It felt like if we surrounded ourselves with the right group of people, the right writers who loved the movie too and wanted to honor it, bring on John Carpenter in some capacity … If we did that, then we have a shot at hopefully making something good.”

Would this change anthing ? could John Carpenter’s involvement be enough to persuade the fans to give it a shot?

As soon as I hear anything, you guys will be the first to know.

As always, thank you for reading.
