Details on Train To Busan American Remake

It was only a matter of time, right? There was no way a movie like Train to Busan could have so much success and not get regurgitated in an American remake. It took a while but now we have some details on what to expect!

I know what you’re gonna say, “has Hollywood no originality left?” and so on…and so on. While I am not the biggest fan of the idea, I have to admit – I am a little excited about it and I will tell you why! there are 2 words, and two words only and they are “Timo Tjahjanto

That’s right, Mr Tjahjanto, one of the leading names when it comes to hardcore Indonesian cinema. He has given us classics like Killers, Headshot, May the Devil Take You, The Night Comes for Us and also an awesome segment in VHS2.

The Train to Busan remake has been in development Hell for some years. But now it looks like we have an official title to share with all. The project is currently called Last Train to New York (I had a feeling it was gonna be New York or L.A).

According to Deadline, Tjahjanto is currently working on a reboot of the Steven Segal actioner Under Siege. And again, do I want a remake of Under Siege? absolutely not…do I want to see a remake of Under Siege by Timo Tjajhanto? that would be a HUGE YES! There’s one thing for certain we can expect from Tjahjanto Under Siege remake and that’s a lot more ass-kicking, brutality and higher body count. As much as I’d love to see Segal back as Casey Ryback, somehow I don’t think that is going to happen.

I dunno, though…here’s a script idea for you all for Under Siege:

Ryback has left the cooking profession and is now a washed-up blues guitarist playing on a cruise ship for the elderly. When terrorists attack the cruise ship, it’s up to Casey Ryback and his trusty six-string to defeat the terrorist threat one judo chop at a time and get the elderly back to shore safely. Anyways haha…

So, no word yet as to when production on the Train to Busan remake will begin. I will make sure to update this article when I hear more news. As always, thanks for reading.
