Alien fans have been waiting forever for their first look at Ridley Scott’s next instalment in the Alien franchise.

I can now confirm that Alien: Covenant (if the trailer is anything to go by) is the Alien movie that we have been longing for. All I could think when I was watching the trailer was “man, this is it, this looks and feels like the real deal”.

We have been let down time and time again by movies that focused more on the cash at the box-office rather than trying to give the fans what they want. I guess we have Deadpool to thank for making (mainstream) movies violent and profitable. It looks like Scott has got tonnes of new scares and gruesome ways of dying.

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant find what they believe to be an uncharted paradise. What the crew discover is a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
