Looking to get Hooked up with some new TV? Here are 5 new tv shows that will be coming your way in 2016/17

The Terror

ETA: 2017

AMC have ordered a ten-part series that will be adapted from Dan Simmons 2007 best-selling novel, The Terror.

Ridley Scott will be producing with his production company,  Scott Free, along with Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360.

The Terror is set in 1847 and is about a crew on an expedition start to fall victim to some sort of predator, they must go into survival mode in order to survive.

Such a shame that I am not a reader, this book sounds like something I’d really enjoy. I guess it has its benefits as well,  I don’t have any expectations – which excludes me from the ever so popular, “it ain’t as good as the book” club.

David Kajganich (Invasion) will pen the script. More to be announced

Official Plot (IMDb)

Set in 1847. A crew of a Royal Naval expedition is sent to find the Arctic’s treacherous Northwest Passage but instead discovers a monstrous predator, a cunning and vicious Gothic horror that stalks the ships in a desperate game of survival, the consequences of which could endanger the region and its native people forever.

Empire Of The Dead

ETA: TBC

Legendary director, and Zom-father, George A Romero released a series of graphic novels that got picked up by Marvel.

Image result for empire of the deadEmpire Of The Dead is set in New York City and blends the undead (zombies) with a different type of undead – the vampire.
When the graphic novel was first announced I knew for a fact that it would get picked up by some big TV/CABLE station in the near future.

I wasn’t wrong, Empire Of The Dead has been picked up for one season (so far) by none other than AMC,  home of Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead and that seems like a well-suited station for this type of production.

Although AMC has not confirmed they have picked  Empire Of The Dead – they also haven’t denied the claims.

Empire Of The Dead had 15 issues

PREACHER

ETA: 2016

I haven’t read any of thImage result for preacher tv seriese Preacher graphic novels but I’m well aware that it has a huge cult following and something a lot of people believe ain’t possible to put on-screen as the content is just too wild for tv.

Pretty sure a trailer hasn’t arrived yet but we have seen a few set – shots but nothing substantial.

Dominic Cooper stars as  Preacher.

Superfans, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are the writers in charge of bringing us the first season.

I was a little bit surprised when I first heard that news, but these guys are huge fans of the series and I think that is exactly what a new series needs for it to be brought to life. These guys know the characters and have dreamed of getting a stab at making this.

Fans have mixed feelings about the series, but it’s impossible to judge as nothing has been released yet, I for one am looking forward to it  – I wish them all the best.
