Alien Romulus Trailer

Here it is, folks, at last, we can finally share with you the first official trailer for Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus¬†

I have been saying it from the very beginning. Fede Alvarez is going to bring the Alien franchise to new terrifying heights, something I think even Ridley Scott has been unable to do since his original classic. Not that I have hated Scott’s recent instalments but I felt he was starting to sacrifice money over content. What I mean by that is that it is always rated 15s. I honestly believe that the Alien franchise needs to be dark, brutal, claustrophobic and terrifying.

I think that we can sleep safely in our beds knowing that Fede Alvarez is the man in charge of bringing us a new nightmarish Alien vision. We only have to look at what he did with the Evil Dead franchise. He stayed so true to the origin of the Evil Dead folklore but he just removed Ash and therefore, the comedy. The result we got in 2013’s Evil Dead was nothing other than extreme horror. Alvarez looks to be approaching these franchises with care and love. I mean, he is probably a fan at the end of the day so getting the chance to bring us new visions in the most important franchises in horror is nothing short of amazing and he most certainly goes for the jugular in terms of graphic content.

I can’t begin to tell you the ease and excitement I got from watching the Alien: Romulus trailer. My cinematic prayers have been answered by the movie gods. This looks like Alien, it feels like Alien and it looks bloody as Hell. Also, I think it was a very cleverly crafted trailer that completely hooks us showing us the return of our beloved Facehuggers and Xenomorphs while still giving nothing away anything about the plot.. The sense of excoriating pain and claustrophobia is also present.¬†
