10 Upcoming Asian Movies You Need To Know About

Not a lot of people know about, On The Job and that is such a shame. Thankfully it has been picked up for another installment with the same writer and director returning for the sequel.

As the film is in early stages of pre-production – there is no plot available at this time.

The original told the story of prisoners who become contract killers and are et out of prison to carry out hits for a reduced sentence.

They are ordered to take-down government officials , then sneak back into the prison when the hit is complete.

Details for upcoming action/thriller have been kept top-secret. The film will reunite director and star of The Raid movies, Gareth Evans, and Iko Uwais.

Evans posted an image on his Twitter that showed Iko Uwais hard at stunt choreography with a claw-hammer in one hand , and a gun in the other.

We really don’t need to know anything about this…. as a huge fan of both Uwais and Evans, I look forward to seeing a refreshing bit of action that ta

kes us away from, The Raid franchise (but he will be back soon for The Raid 3).

With Iko Uwais still in mind I thought I would mention another film that will see him star alongside Julie Estelle, AKA Hammer-Girl from The Raid 2: Berendal.

As if we needed another reason to get excited for this project. Headshot will be directed by The Mo Brothers who have proven that they are among the best in independent Asian cinema.

With a premise reminiscing of the Bourne movies – Uwais plays a character with amnesia who is taken in and nursed back to health by a beautiful nurse (who is also capable of snapping your neck like a bread-stick) played by Julie Estelle.

No doubt serious action will begin when Uwais’s character starts to remember who is, and the bad guys figure out where he is!.

One Good Thing

A few months ago I had the pleasure of reviewing a new martial arts movie from Chile. The film was called The Redeemer and it stared serious ass-kicker, Marko Zahor.

Marko Zahor impressed the hell out of me with his vast range of mixed martial arts skills.

One Good Thing stars Marko Zahor and the insanely awesome, Yayan Ruhian (The Raid franchise).

I am pretty sure this is writing debut from Todd Brown, who is the founder of awesome indie move site Twitchfilm.

The film wil be directed by one half of the Mo Bros, Kimo Stamboel.

Brown is well-adjusted to the action genre and is a partner in production company XYZFilms, which has produced some of the best action movies in recent years.

Expect updates on all the above movies. As always, thank you for reading.
