Grimmfest 2024 review: Delivery Run

So, I kicked off my Grimmfest coverage last night with the super fun snow slasher, Delivery Run.

Delivery Run had its premiere at Manchester’s Grimmfest on September 4th @ 7.30 pm.

The film follows Lee, a man who is down on his luck and in debt to some nasty people and their patience is running out. He can’t turn to friends for help because the only friend he’s got is his pet goldfish, Reggie.

In desperate need of a few grand, he decides to hit icy roads delivering food to customers. But, it isn’t busy and he isn’t making the money he thought he would.

Going nowhere fast, his night comes into further trouble with road rage against a giant snowplow truck (if Jeepers Creepers was set in the snow, this is what the truck would look like). But it becomes evident immediately that he has road-raged the wrong person.

Behind the the wheel of the snowplow is a homicidal maniac on a killing spree and he now has his sights on Lee, leaving a trail of bodies, killing anyone who gets in the way.

When a delivery comes in, he has no choice but to venture into the snowy Minnesota mountain wilderness and he knows this isn’t a good idea. He is then warned by a local who begins to hint at the dangers of the mountain while telling him about the horrifying case of the Dyatlov Pass Incident. He’s about to make a delivery to the wrong house.

Delivery Run blends a cat-and-mouse type thriller along with a slasher formula with a twist. A nice take and a welcomed, original entry into the slasher sub-genre.

Delivery Run is inspired by the early Steven Speilberg classic DUEL only with a modern twist. The featured poster captured this perfectly.
