GRIMMFEST (2024) BRINGS BACK THE HORROR TO MANCHESTER

Grimmfest is officially underway, so I thought I would do a quick article and tell you all what is happening on day 1 of the festival. The movies/times that will be showing on Monday, the 3rd of October are as follows:

4.30 – TALES FROM THE VOID

Tales From the Void is a brand new horror anthology that features 3 short horror films. The film is presented by  Lord John T. Laing and his trusty servant Feder

Based on the best stories from Reddit’s terrifying R/No Sleep sub-Reddit. Expect a wide range of pure horror all thrown together into one movie.

6.30 – BLACK CAB

Black Cab is the new film starring Nick Frost (who is in attendance at the festival this year). A cab driver picks up a fare, and instead of going to where they need to go, he takes them to a haunted road in the countryside. Soon enough, his true intentions will come to light to his unsuspecting passengers.

This is the first of two films that will feature Nick Frost with the second being a serial killer thriller, Get Away (also written by Frost).

8.30 – BEEZEL

Beezel is another film that plays out like an anthology. The film focuses on an evil blind witch who terrorises and murders the residents of a household for over 60 years.

I have been hearing some great things about this incredible little indie horror. For the budget these guys have Beezel is meant to be a great example of what can be achieved on an indie scale.

10.20 – STRANGE HARVEST

I’ve some content creator friends who have already had the pleasure of seeing Strange Harvest. This is a bleak and twisted serial killer movie shot in found footage style.

Strange Harvest: Occult Murder in the Inland Empire is directed and written by Grave Encounters’ Chris Ortiz.

Shot in a true crime mockumentary style, it deals with detectives who are on the hunt for a serial killer called Mr. Shiny who has been butchering people in California for decades.
