Are You Ready For Black Summer Season 2 – It Hits Netflix June 17th

I know what you’re going to say “not more zombies, Gary, do you ever shut up about the Goddman zombies?. No, I don’t and I never will – let’s talk about Black Summer!

Now, it took me a while to cave-in and watch the first series of Black Summer. Why? because I listened to people’s reviews and they were thrashing it.

I know this is meant to be set in the same zombie apocalyptic universe as Z Nation but who cares?. Am I fan of Z Nation? nope, not at all. I think it is shite. But I do think that this series is strong enough to be a standalone story even if it does have ties to a less superior series.

Look, if you’re a fan of a good zombie apocalypse drama then Black Summer gets so much more right than The Walking Dead. What I mean is Day 0, the start of the zombie apocalypse. Well, I guess we got it with Fear the Walking Dead but it still didin’t capture the meltdown of society, and how fast everything falls to shit. Black Summer nails this…and it’s super tense. It reminded me way more of Danny Boyle’s Rage-Virus classic 28 Days Later.

In the first season Rose must make her way through a zombie ravaged city in complete chaos to get to a stadium to reunite with her child. She joins forces with anyone she can trust along the way to battle their way through the infected at all costs. And just like any other zombie drama, it ain’t only the zombies you got to worry about -those damn humans are always up to something.

Season 2 throws our survivors into harsh wintery conditions to battle the infected. Their path leads them to a dangerous confrontation with a squad of rogue militants.

Check out the trailer for Black Summer S02 below! I am still getting 28 Days Later vibes from this – are you?
