Fan Of Cult/Folk Horror? check out these two upcoming releases.

Who doesn’t love a bit of cult/folk horror? it is a sub-genre that has been on the rise but a sub-genre we certainly still don’t have enough of. I am happy to share with you two new upcoming cult releases; a movie & a series – both sound really good.

The Feast recently played at SXSW prestigious Midnighters section. This new cult/folk horror is set in Wales and is filmed entirely in Welsh which is something we have never seen before.

The Feast is about a wealthy family who is throwing a huge dinner party for family and close friends. Their home help needs replaced at the last minute and, unknown to them, their new servant plans to get revenge on every single one of them.

I have read a couple of trusted reviews and both of them were great. One of them compares the tone of the film to the first half of Martyrs and then things get insanely violent (also like Martyrs)

A new name in filmmaking to watch out for, folks. The Feast is the directorial debut from Lee Haven Jones. It is written by writer/producer Roger Williams.

New Upcoming Cult/Horror Releases – Archive 81

This new Netflix horror series is produced and co-directed by James Wan. Written by Rebecca Sonnenshine (Vampire Diaries) & Paul Harris Bordman (Exorcism of Emily Rose).

Archive 81 is about a video archivist that starts to piece together old videotape footage. He finds himself reconstructing film footage of a dangerous cult recorded by a documentary filmmaker called Melody Pendras.

The new Netflix series will consist of 8 one-hour episodes and stars  Ariana Neal & Mamoudou Athie.

The Feast will be finding its way to distribution soon. As for Archive 81, it looks like filming just wrapped this month (03/21). I wouldn’t be expecting any sooner than 2022. I will make sure to keep you all updated on both upcoming releases.

As always, thanks for reading.

New Asian Horror Movies Coming Your Way In 2021

We are back again with another list. This time, focusing on New Asian Horror Movies Coming Your Way In 2021. We hope you enjoy – we got some great stuff to be looking forward to this year. Let’s get to it!

THE MEDIUM (Thailand)

New Asian Horror Movies – The Medium

Shutter co-director, Banjong Pisanthanakun teams up with director turned producer Na Hong-jin (The Chaser, The Wailing, The Yellow Sea) for a new Thai traditional horror, The Medium

A shaman is called to a family when one of them gets possessed by a malevolent spirit. That’s all I know, and to be honest, I don’t wanna look into this one too much and watch it knowing as little as possible.

The plot sounds familiar but the team involved gives me hope that The Medium will offer us something refreshing in the possession sub-genre

New Asian Horror Movies – The Sadness

This looks pretty damn crazy. The Sadness is a new viral outbreak from Taiwan that I am sure all the gorehounds, including myself, will love.

An unknown virus mutates and turns infected into crazed cannibals. Again, not much originality regarding the story but is that what we look for when watching a zombie flick?. It is great when one comes along that is completely original but as long the execution is delivered, it’s filled with gore, great looking zombies, decent acting and a high kill count…I could watch the same zombie scenario and never get tired of it. Take Army of the Dead for example: does it look original? absolutely fuckin’ not!: does it look badass? AbsoFuckinlutley! This is what I am hoping for with The Sadness.

Homunculus Netflix Movie
New Asian Horror Movies – Homunculus

Homunculus us based on a manga by Ichi the Killer creator Hideo Yamamoto. It will arrive on Netflix in April and has need described as extreme psychological horror – yay!.

A homeless man undergoes an experiment where he gets a hole drilled in his head. The experiment unlocks his 6th sense and when covering one eye, he can see people for what they really are – pure evil!

New Asian Horror Movies Cinderella Addiction Moviehooker Movie List
New Asian Horror Movies – The Cinderella Addiction

The Cinderella Addiction is about a woman who loses everything she has in one single night; her husband, her house, money…everything. When she thinks that all luck is lost she finds herself falling in love in a fairytale setting with a doctor. Her new fairytale dreamworld shortly crumbles before her when she is involved in a shockingly violent crime.

New Asian Horror Movies – Character

A talented but kind-hearted manga artist called Keigo Yamashiro has trouble creating villains for his stories due to his good nature. He works as an assistant for a well-respected manga author who asks him to go to a house to sketch a “happy” family.

He enters the house to find the family have been murdered and the murderer is still there. Instead of telling the police, he uses him for inspiration for the villain in his manga.

10 Must See Found Footage Films

A list of ten must-see Found Footage Movies accompanied by Youtube Video

10 Must See Found Footage Films – YouTube Vid – Check it out, Like & subscribe for more content!

We are back again with another list. I know, if you’re a fan of the Found Footage sub-genre then a lot of these titles would be obvious. But I am hoping that even the most hardcore of fans will find at least one film in here they ain’t heard of.

An unknown virus breaks out in a central Barcelona apartment complex. A local documentary crew, firefighters and residents must fight the infected and find a way out of the quarantined building.

Two best friends decide to vlog their planned trip around the world. After a dodgy sexual encounter with a strange female, one of the friends starts to notice bizarre changes in his body.

George A Romero’s Diary of the Dead got a lot of shit when it was released. Yeah, it is not without its faults but if you’re a found-footage freak like us, then this is one hell of a good flick.

Usual zombie shenanigans we see with Romero movies…or pretty much any zombie film. A group of amateur filmmakers find themselves thrown into a real-life horror movie when the dead return to life and attack the living.

This is a terrifying film. Not only is The Taking Of Deborah Logan a brilliant horror movie, but it is also a harrowing, heartbreaking and realistic look at the effects of someone suffering from a degenerative disease like Alzheimer’s or dementia.

A group of filmmakers document the life of Deborah Logan as she battles with a rapidly spreading infectious degenerative disease.

Creep is one of those movies that is so simplistic, it is brilliant. Again, I can understand why some people wouldn’t like it but I really enjoyed this one…and its sequel too.

A strapped-for-cash YouTuber answers an advert and almost immediately regrets his decision when his new “Friend” is a borderline psychopath.

I was late to the game with Hell House LLC. The hype is real with this one as it offers some genuinely unsettling scenes.

A group of friends start to die or disappear on the opening night of their horror-themed haunted house.

Hell House spawned two sequels. The second one is quite good and a continuation of the events of the first. But due to the shitty reviews, I have yet to check out the third part.

The Bay is another found-footage film that had a lot of mixed reviews. Personally, I think it is one of the strongest FF flicks out there.

Chaos and mayhem break out in a small coastal town when its residents start to get infected with an unknown virus.

Before the Blair Witch Project but after Cannibal Holocaust, we were blessed with Man Bites Dog. A Belgian serial killer comedy made as part of a film project for film students.

Shot in “cheap” black & white, Man Bites Dog is about a serial killer with a fetish for killing postmen and dwarves. A film crew follows him and documents his every kill.

Troll Hunter is a super-fun fantasy movie steeped in Norwegian folklore. A group of filmmakers follow a TrollHunter around Norway as he battles and captures trooooooollllllllllls!

The Upper Footage is one I am hoping you guys ain’t seen. A group of friends experience a real-life nightmare when trying to score cocaine. Written and directed by Justin Cole

That’s it for this list. We hope you enjoyed it. As always, thanks for reading.
