Dave Bautista Joins Zack Snyder’s Netflix zombie film ARMY OF THE DEAD

Guardians Of The Galaxy star Dave Bautista has been confirmed for a leading role in Zack Snyder’s Netflix zombie film Army Of The Dead.

Army Of The Dead will act as a sort of sequel to Snyder’s fantastic re-imagining of George A. Romero’s zombie horror classic Dawn Of The Dead. I think that you will all agree with me that 2004’s Dawn Of The Dead was a superior remake.

I really don’t mind if a zombie is fast or slow, it’s how the filmmaker tells the story. To me, zombies have never really been scary. I just love the dreaded feeling of being completely overrun by hordes of flesh-eaters. You can always escape a few but when they gather in numbers, that’s when things can get tense. I just want to see people get eaten! Snyder’s approach with the fast-moving zombies for Dawn Of The Dead worked so well. So, I think we can safely say that if this is a continuation of DOTD then we will be getting fast-moving zombies.

Which Now Brings Me To Army Of The Dead

The film will apparently take place a few years after the events of Dawn Of The Dead. It follows a group of survivors who plan to pull off the biggest heist in history. There’s just one problem…hordes of the undead!.

Snyder is excited and say’s that he has total creative control to bring us the craziest zombie film we have ever seen.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter back in January, Snyder had this to say about Army Of The Dead…
“This is the opportunity to find a purely joyful way to express myself through a genre. It will be the most kick-ass, self-aware — but not in a wink-to-the-camera way — balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow that anyone has ever seen. No one’s ever let me completely lose”

So far only Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy) and Adam Celentano (Kilimanjaro) have been officially named to star in Army Of The Dead. Shooting is due to begin soon so it won’t be long until more names are announced.

As always, thanks for reading.
