We are back with a new list of upcoming and newly released cannibal movies. We have some awesome flicks coming our way. Let’s get to it…
Two upcoming cannibal movies and two newly released this year. It has been a great year for horror…and it’s just about to get better. Nom nom Nom!
BONES AND ALL
Bones and All stars Stars Taylor Russell, Timothée Chalamet & Michael Stuhlbarg. This flick has been getting some fantastic reviews over the last few months. Not only that but Bones and All is said to be very gruesome and not recommended for anyone with a weak stomach. It could be a marketing stunt, but those words are like sweet music to my ears.
Described as a road movie, a heartbreaking love story and a full-on gruesome cannibalistic horror film. This one has been high up on the watchlist and is quite possibly going to be one of the best horrors of the year.
Directed by Luca Guadagnino, and written by David Kajganich. It is based on a novel by Camille DeAngelis.
This upcoming cannibal movie has such an awesome cast. So much so, you would like to think with a cast that strong, there is no way that this film can fail.
Not a lot is known about the plot but it’s about a couple who travel to a remote island to eat at a luxurious, exclusive restaurant. I am gonna take a wild guess and say that all the yummy food they’re getting served is beautifully cooked soft tender human meat. Yum
Starring the great Ralph Fiennes as the mysterious head chef and Nicolas Hoult and also Anya Taylor-Joy (damn, she is just everywhere at the minute)
The Menu is directed by Mark Mylod (Game of Thrones, Entourage, Succession, The Affair, Shameless, Minority Report).
On the outside, the plot for Feed Me sounds like an old German/American cannibal movie called Grimm Love. A German adaptation of the same story was also released (a lot darker than Grimm Love) simply called, Cannibal.
We are all aware of the real-life story of the consent cannibal killing in Germany. A man met up with a cannibal and agreed to let the cannibal cut him up, fry him in a pan and eat him.
We have a similar plot with Feed Me, a man spirals out of control after the death of his wife. He wakes up in a cannibal’s house and the cannibal is trying to convince him to put himself on the menu.
Another reason I am really looking forward to this is the minimal cast. I just love a film, especially with such a dark plot with a handful of characters. I think movies like this carry more of an emotional sucker punch and what I have heard about Feed Me, it is not going to disappoint
The directorial debut from Mimi Cave. Fresh had its world Premiere at this year’s Sundance Festival. It is now available to stream on Hulu.
The film is about a woman who is sick and tired of modern dating apps. She meets someone in a grocery store and decides to give him her number. Fast forward a little while and the two are away on a vacation and that’s when she realises his true intentions.
Fresh also carries the “not for the faint of heart” tag. An acquired taste that’s guaranteed to shock you to the core.
Well, that’s it for this short list of Recently Released & Upcoming Cannibal Movies. We hope you’ve been hooked up with some nicely disturbing future viewing. As always, thanks for reading.
