Guillermo del Toro has a new Netflix horror anthology series – Cabinet of Curiosities

Netflix has ordered a new anthology horror series created by Guillermo del Toro called Cabinet of Curiosities

Originally titled, Guillermo del Toro’s 10 After Midnight, the legendary Mexican director has hand-picked different directors to bring these tales of terror to life. And man, what an absolutely brilliant line-up we have. Check out the info below!

Cabinet of Curiosities will be exec produced by del Toro, J. Miles Dale, Regina Corrado & Gary Ungar.

The filmmakers he has chosen are as follows: Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Bad Batch),  Panos Cosmatos (Mandy), Vincenzo Natali (Hannibal), Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight), Guillermo Navarro (Godfather of Harlem; Narcos), Keith Thomas (Firestarter).

Some of the cast announced to star in these episodes include Peter Weller, Tim Blake Nelson, Crispin Glover, Glynn Turman, Ben Barnes, Andrew Lincoln, Essie Davis, Elpidia Carrillo, Demetrius Grosse among many others.

Of course, we have some HP Lovecraft stories getting adapted. It ain’t no secret, del Toro is without a doubt, the biggest Lovecraft fan there is walking this earth. I mean, have you ever seen this man’s house?. If Lovecraft was still alive I’d imagine he would have a restraining order against him.

Who knows? maybe after this, Netflix will see the potential and sign a deal for him to bring Lovecraft‘s At The Mountains of Madness to life (preferably in a series). At the Mountains Of Madness has been del Toro’s passion project for as long as I remember. But due to the HUGE content in the story, he has never been able to get funding. That’s why I think a series would be way more suitable than a movie. It is just too damn big for a feature-length film. Come on Netflix! sort this out…we need At The Mountains Of Madness in our lives.

Cabinet of Curiosities is now in production. Stay tuned for more info.

As always, thanks for reading.
