5 NEW BODY HORRORS

I am back with a new list of upcoming or recently released body horrors – check out Moviehooker’s new list!

I’m sure some of you ill be familiar with a few of these new body horror, but, as always, I am hoping there are a few that you haven’t heard of. Either way, we have a bunch of great new body horrors coming our way.

THE SUBSTANCE

The Substance is a new body horror that needs no introduction and has just been released in cinemas so I urge you to go and check it out on the big screen.

The new film from Revenge director Coralie Fargeat starring Demi Moore and Margaret Qually.

A new experimental drug abused by an ageing celebrity results in some of the grossest body horror in recent years. This one is not for the faint of heart, folks.

HELLHOLE

Hellhole is another film that has been on the watchlist for some time. The new horror film from the Addams family is currently seeing the end of a successful festival run with a release to follow on AMC’s Shudder.

Hellhole focuses on a team of workers who dig up the frozen remains of an old soldier who is carrying a live parasitic creature that finds its home in human hosts.

BOOGER

Booger is the directorial and writing debut of Mary Dauterman which examines grief and loss from the perspective of a cat…well, sort of.

After losing her best friend Izzy, Anna accidentally lets their cat Booger out of her apartment. But just before little Booger ran for it, he bit Anna on the hand. Now Anna begins a frantic search for her little feline friend while starting to experience a strange transformation.

It’s not so much a body horror but a wonderful character study on the acceptance of loss. I would highly recommend but don’t be expecting the horror.

GRAFTED

Grafted is a new New Zealand comedy body horror and I am happy to report that it is a full-on grotesque body horror experience.

Currently doing its festival run with astounding reviews surfacing proving that this will be one of the sickest horror comedies of the year.

A young woman with a skin condition moves to New Zealand from China after her scientist father dies. Before his death, her father was working on a cure for her condition and she decided to carry on his work with super gross results.

STREET TRASH

A remake of the 80s cult classic shocker. Street Trash will be directed by FrIed Barry director Ryan Kruger.

The original 80s flick told the story of a top-secret experiment that aims to kill all homeless people in true body-melting horror.
