Netflix has announced that Zack Snyder will bring us Twilight of the Gods. The streaming giants will also be throwing us into the infinite darkness of space in a brand new space horror series.
Like him or not, it looks like Zack Snyder has found his home with Netflix. He has been given way more freedom with Netflix than he could ever have dreamed of with Warner Bros. I think that is a great thing too. Warner Bros didn’t have the technology to tackle the unbearable and excruciating task of a CGI moustache, yet, with Netflix, Snyder was able to completely digitally insert a whole character into Army of the Dead without (hardly) anyone noticing. That was some truly impressive work. Even if you didn’t like Army of the Dead, you still gotta give the man credit.
He recently announced his next protect – Twilight of the Gods, which, at the minute is said to be an anime series. The new Netflix series will be about Norse mythology and the deaths of Nordic Gods like Thor & Loki. The only difference is that this version of Thor and Loki isn’t going to be watered-down, sugar-coated A-Team violence that we get with most Marvel/Disney. That, folks, is something we can surely look forward to.
Snyder recently said in an interview with Geek Week Live Stream: “It’s just going to be unlike anything you’ve seen. In animation, we can do anything we want so fun and fun for all of us. The creatives involved have just been going nuts.”
NETFLIX’S NEW SPACE HORROR SERIES: EXCEPTION
Wow, Exception sure sounds like it is going to be something special. When it comes to animated space horror, the Dead Space movies have set the bar high for that sub-genre. The new space horror series is written by Hirotaka Adachi, a Japanese author who goes by the Alias, Otsuichi and is most popular for his work on short horror stories. And if that ain’t enough to convince you, then the characters are designed by Final Fantasy’s Yoshitaka Amano. That combination is surely something for us all to get excited about, right?.
You can expect to hear more news on both projects as news is announced. As always, thanks for reading.
