A shout out to Jason for putting Outside on my radar – the new Filipino zombie horror will arrive on Netflix on the 17th of October
It has been a while since we have had a good Asian zombie production and Outside looks very promising.
Also, Outisde is the first ever Filipino zombie production which is very exciting to see what vision of the undead this part of the world brings us.
Filipino director Carlo Ledesma is also the director of the highly underrated Aussie found footage film, The Tunnel.
In Outside, the contagious dead are returning to life and attacking the living. A father must protect his family from infection and travels back to his childhood home to rebuild and fortify the grounds.
Official Synopsis
A family trying to outrun the zombie outbreak by returning to the father’s childhood farmhouse, fortifying it to keep out “The Dead Ones”. Alas, there is just as much horror and trauma at the ancestral home as there is outside the gates.
Like most Asian zombie productions Outside will also more than likely carry social commentary and deal with current issues in the Philipines and the rest of the world.
