The Human Trap: New Hostel-Grotesque Style Horror

THE HUMAN TRAP: The new South Korean horror is on its way to Amazon Prime and other streaming services this January,

As you all know, South Korean cinema is where Moviehooker is at. I am a huge fan, have been for years and always will be. The Human Trap is a bonus because I also have a soft spot for these types of scenarios: a group of people are kidnapped by a crazy doctor and then tortured to death. There was a film (way worse than Hostel) called Grotesque (from Japan) – it was even banned in the UK due to its cruel and sadistic content. Anyway, Grotesque was about a couple who were kidnapped and tortured by a crazy doctor. With The Human Trap, it seems similar only there looks to be more victims – another bonus for us gorehounds.

Starring Kim Dong-ho, Byeol Kang, Park Yeon-woo. This film seems to be listed as released in 2021 but for whatever reason, it’s only getting to us now. Ah, well, better late than never, right? Another interesting thing to note here is that this looks to be director/writer Lee Moon-young’s first feature film. By the looks of the trailer, we may have another horror maestro on the horizon.

OFFICIAL PLOT (Press Release-Cinephobe Releasing)

A group of naïve teens whose hoped-for weekend outing turns into a deadly camping-trip-from-hell. For they can sing the first stanza of Kumbaya, the foursome are rounded up and taken to a makeshift medical lab where a deranged Christian “doctor” and his evil assistant plan shocking medical experimentations on the captured teens. Infused with pitch-black humour, The Human Trap unleashes waves of shocking violence as the terrified teens fight for their lives.

THE HUMAN TRAP Premieres 11/01/24 on Amazon Prime

You can expect a review for The Human Trap coming soon. As always, thanks for reading.
