Are you a fan Black Mirror? if so, then you should check out the German movie on Netflix called PARADISE
Paradise was hugely entertaining, if not a little bit terrifying. The story of a company called AEON who can forcefully remove years of your life if you’re in debt or struggling. You are sat in a room, strapped to a chair as if your were receiving capital punishment. Your youthfulness is drained from your body and is placed into the elderly to give them a new lease of life. When the donor wakes from the procedure, they have aged the amount of years that was in their contract with very little life left in them.
Another great way to look at this is the immense power that huge corporations have over us. They pretend to have the common man’s best interest at heart but do they ever?… Nope, it’s all fake and lies with no other purpose than to help the rich get richer. They just want to benefit themselves while having no thought or desire to help the working class. This is a great example of that.
A very well-written film, beautifully acted and wonderfully shot. However, I did think that they did use some predictable action movie tropes but that doesn’t make it any less of a good watch.
