Yup, you read that right.
Keanu Reeves will return as John Constantine in new sequel for Warner Bros and DC.
The news is just in that Keanu Reeves will return as demon slayer John Constantine in a direct sequel to the 2005 film.
I remember seeing an interview in the last year or so with Keanu and he was asked “What movie would you like to see a sequel to? “, Reeves unhesitatingly said “Constantine” and the audience went crazy. I knew, right there and then, that big-wig producers from DC and Warner were on the ball at that very moment trying to get this much-needed sequel off the ground. And now it seems I was right… Constantine will return.
The script will be written by Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) and Reeves will reunite with co-star Francis Lawrence for the new sequel. JJ Abramms will produce with his Bad Robot production company alongside Goldsman production company, Weed Road Pictures.
This is awesome news and I can’t wait to share more updates as production gets underway. It wasn’t that long ago I re-watched the first film. To be honest, I put it on as something to fall asleep to, but I was suprised how well it had aged and I really enjoyed revisiting Constantine again.
