Yup, in case you didn’t know, we already have a remake of the 2022 Danish horror film, Speak No Evil
At first, when I heard the news of a Speak No Evil remake I thought to myself, man, that’s one hell of a fast remake. The sick feeling in my stomach from the original had barely settled. Then, I looked into it a bit and to be honest, I am more than excited about it.
The remake of Speak No Evil is written and directed by James Watkins. This man gave us one of the best human horrors in existence: Eden Lake. Eden Lake was about a couple who were on a romantic break when they are attacked and tortured by a group of scumbag youths. Just like Speak Now Evil, Eden Lake was a mean-spirited and nasty piece of cinematic gold.

In Speak No Evil, there was so much untapped material that would have easily made a sequel…or even a prequel. If James Watkins explores any of these, this remake could be a sick, standalone film while still holding on to the roots and structure of the original.
What I mean is that these killers have been murdering people for years. Not only that, but it looks like they always use the same method up until their chosen form of execution: find a family, manipulate, psychologically damage beyond repair, kill the parents, remove the child’s tongue and move on to find their next victims.
