Heretic Trailer: Hugh Grant Gets His Creep On In New A24 Horror

Hugh Grant stars in A24’s new horror offering, Heretic and we are so here for it

With all of the buzz surrounding Ti West’s Maxxine, it is safe to say that A24 are in their element and choosing the right filmmakers to bring us the best in genre cinema. Now, we have Heretic which shows us a dark and sinister side to Hugh Grant

Heretic is the new feature from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (Haunt, A Quiet Place, 65) that throws two Mormon missionaries into a blueberry-scented house of horror.

Two missionaries on a quest to spread the word of the Lord are starting to feel defeated because no one wants to listen to them. They spend their days getting ignored, laughed at and doors slammed in their faces. It seems that no one wants to learn about their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – but, all of that changes when they knock on the door of a seemingly nice man who immediately invites them into his house.

Straight away, the girls are too trusting. Their biblical rules state that they can’t enter a house without a woman being present. Of course, the man lies and says his wife is also in the house and before they know it, the girls are trapped inside and their faith is about to be brutally questioned.

The trailer reveals that Hugh Grant is a nasty piece of work and the house is designed to kill and torture the two girls in Cube or Jigsaw fashion. When faced with imminent death – do you accept God – or fight like Hell?

Heretic stars Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East. It is expected to be released in November 2024.
