Next up in our FrightFest coverage is the hilariously absurd Member’s Club (control yourselves, ladies).
Members Club follows Wet Dreams, an ageing male stripper group from Essex. There was a time when these strapping lads reigned as the fifth-best stripper act in their local town. But they ain’t the same chiselled Chippendales they once were.
Things haven’t been too good with gigs, and business is pretty much non-existent. And, although they don’t want to admit it, they’re on their way to being has-been legends of the male Essex strip scene.
However, all this is looking to change when they get the chance at a well-paid gig in the middle of nowhere somewhere deep in a rural part of Essex. Sounds good, right?
Next thing they know, Alan and the boys have a major part to play in resurrecting a 16-century-old witch. And this certain witch has a certain fetish for a certain part of the male anatomy. Now the lads must do everything in their power to defeat the witch and try and escape with their members intact.
Member’s Club is a hugely entertaining horror that never takes itself seriously. It bathes in its own gory glory and ridiculousness and is a love letter to old-school 90’s horror. This was a stupidly fun ride and just when you think things can’t get any stranger, one member might just hold the key to defeat the evil.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet star Dean Kilbey while attending FrightFest
