New Witch & werewolf Movies (2024/25)

Here is a new list of horror films but this time I am just focusing on some upcoming witch and werewolf horror Let’s get to it – AROUUUUUUU!

OPERATION BLOOD HUNT

A group of elite soldiers are called in to investigate the disappearance of marines who are said to have disappeared behind Japanese enemy lines. The group of commandos soon realise that they’re up against something much more dangerous than their enemies; a group of giant, hungry werewolves.

I only had to watch about 30 seconds of the trailer to be sold. The werewolves look great and look like they’re straight out of the book of Dog Soldiers only with a more substantial budget.

WOLF MAN

Saw co-creator Leigh Whanell is revamping the Hammer Horror classic The Wolf Man. We recently started to see the start of the promotion and I do hope they are taking the absolute piss because what we saw was like something bought in a bargain bin in a Halloween store which was probably called something “Wolf-Like Man Beast Creature”. I just hope it was a bit of clever marketing to get people talking.

Starring Christopher Abbot and Ozark’s Julia Garner, Wolf Man follows a family who become under attack by a beast during a full moon.

WOLF NIGHT

Wolf Night had me sold only the tagline alone: “District 9 by way of The Purge – but with werewolves,”

It will be directed by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning director Jonathan Liebesman and written by Will Honely and April Maguire. Stay tuned for more information as it is announced.

MOTHER NOCTURNA

Mother Nocturna doesn’t look like a straight-up werewolf movie but I could be wrong. I have the screener to watch so a review will be live here in a few days.

This looks to be the first Italian werewolf movie (that I have covered anyway) and focuses on a mentally unstable woman who starts to undergo a strange transformation on a full moon. When the husband of the family falls sick, she must now protect her daughter as well as her mental health, and not subdue to the voices calling her from the woods.

I have checked out the screener and Mother Nocturna is not so much in-your-face werewolves. It is an examination of deteriorating mental health, loneliness and isolation with some full moon and wolf folklore thrown in.

THE BEAST WITHIN

Okay, so the reviews have been a mixed bag for The Beast Within But we like to make our minds up, right?

Starring Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington as a desperate father trying to protect his family from a creature that is stalking them from the woods but what if he is the very person his family need protecting from?

BEEZEL

It seems that the people who didn’t enjoy Beezel can’t appreciate that this is an indie film that doesn’t have the multi-million budget some horror movies do.

I have heard that we have a great little indie gem here with an impressive horror anthology-type film that tells the story of a horrible witch who terrorises the residents of a house for over 60 years.

I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE

I Will Never Leave You Alone focuses on a mute prisoner who is offered a reduced sentence if he agrees to stay in a haunted house and rid it of the evil spirits that lurk on the grounds. After finding a creepy doll, he unknowingly unleashes a witch who was murdered on the property centuries ago. He is then put to the test when the witch uses his broken mind as a weapon against him.

MEMBERS CLUB

If you go into Members Club knowing what to expect then this is an absurdly wild ride and doesn’t try to be anything else other than ridiculous. It focuses on the 5th best stripper group in Essex. Things ain’t looking good for this group of has-beens but all that is about to change. They get offered a much-needed, well-paid gig in a rural part of Essex not knowing that they are all going to be sacrificed for the resurrection of a centuries-old c*ck-hungry witch.

Sit back, turn off the brain and enjoy this slapstick bit of British horror comedy as it should be enjoyed.

LORD OF WOLVES

Lord of Wolves is a new London-set werewolf movie that looks to be blending in a little bit of Hellraiser and the trailer didn’t look too bad at all.

A strange puzzle-like box summons an ancient group of wolf people from the seedy underground belly of London throwing a group of people into a battle for survival.
