THE LAIR: Neil Marshall Returns to Creature-Feature Roots

Dog Soldiers and The Descent director, Neil Marshall is back to his true horror form in new creature-feature, The Lair.

A few years ago, Marshall tackled the folk horror subgenre and gave us The Reckoning, a film about a woman accused of witchcraft after the death of her husband. Although, The Reckoning sounded like a solid return to form, it really didn’t push the buttons I was hoping for.

Now, years later Marshall is returning to his creature-feature roots that earned him worldwide acclaim with horror classics, Dog Soldiers and The Descent. His new film, The Lair looks to be bringing back the tension and horror that he can do so well with the right concept.

OFFICIAL PLOT (IMDb)

When Royal Air Force pilot Lt. Kate Sinclair is shot down over Afghanistan, she finds refuge in an abandoned underground bunker where deadly man-made biological weapons – half human, half alien – are awakened.
