Now, at last we get to show the haters why this new Hellraiser movie is going to rock beyond words – we now have a trailer
The film community is such a strange place to be at times. Judging from the “fan” reactions that Jamie Clayton was cast as the Hell Preist (Pinhead), it seemed that the majority of people are just assholes. Yeah, Doug Bradley was awesome as Pinhead but Clive Barker wasn’t a fan at how the studios changed the character. I mean, if you’re going to want to please anyone then the first person you would wanna impress is Clive Barker – creator of the cenobites, right?. And that is what Bruckner has achieved. Unlike the original films, Barker is 100% behind the remake – they didn’t bastardise his story or script. Apparently he was present for a lot of the shooting.
This Hellraiser is the truest and closest instalment we have to Clive Barker’s original source material. The new director, David Bruckner really, really impressed me with his horror flick The Night House starring Rebecca Hall. Although I wanted Pascal Laugier (Martyrs) to write and direct (and at one time he was attached), I am not upset by the choices made.
