6 New Vampire Movies (2024/25)

It may be a short list but here are 4 new vampire movies, 2 we will see releasing very soon and the other 2 is in pre-production but guaranteed to be worth the wait.

INSANE LIKE ME?

We recently received the press release for Insane Like Me? It also featured on a recent moviehooker list, too, but up until today, I had no idea it was a vampire movie.

The plot sounds similar to Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy: a man is thrown into an asylum after being wrongly convicted of murder. Years later, he is released and goes after those responsible.

THE VOURDALAK

The Vourdalak is an offbeat French vampire movie and the directorial debut from Adrien Beau. This looks to be a great spin on vampire folklore.

Usually with vampire movies, our vampires are stinking rich and live in castles. In The Vourdalak, it is the village peasants who bear the fangs and the rich protagonist is the victim.

The idea for this film was based on a novella released in 1839 by Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy called La Famille du Vourdalak which was written 40 years before Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

DRACULA: A LOVE TALE

Staying with the French theme, Dracula: A Love Tale is a new vampiric horror vision from Luc Besson, the mastermind behind classics such as Leon: The Professional and Angel-A.

Featuring an astonishing cast including Christoph Waltz and Caleb Landry-Jones. It looks to be a direct remake of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, or a very similar premise anyway. I hope we get to see Christoph Waltz play Dracula, I think he would be frighteningly good.

FLESH OF THE GODS

Flesh Of The Gods was some of the best vampire movie news I have ever had the pleasure of reporting. Mandy director Panos Cosmatos is teaming up with Se7en writer, Kevin Walker for a new 80s-set hedonistic vampire tale.

Starring Kristen Stewart and Oscar Issac, the film deals with a rich couple who get involved with a mysterious man known only as Nameless. It isn’t long before the couple are thrown into a surreal blood-soaked nightmare.

DRAINED

Okay, so I don’t have a lot of information to go on for Drained but I do know that it is being entered into this year’s Cannes Film Festival by director Sean Cronin.

From the stills I have seen of Drained, I must admit, I was completely sucked in. More info to follow as news is announced.

BOGIEVILLE

Another vampire film from Sean Cronin and another Cannes Film Festival entry. Bogieville stars Arifin Putrafrom The Raid 2.

Bogieville follows a couple who are on the run and stumble on an abandoned trailer park that is overun by bloodthirsty vampires.

Okay, that’s it for this list of new vampire movies. I know it was a short one but I hope you have added them all to your watchlist.
