New Festive Horror: Get Your Festive Fear Here

The festive season is almost upon us and I am here to bring you the best in new Festive Horror

This is a first here on Moviehooker: A Festive Horror List. I am not that big into Festive horror but there are definitely exceptions (I’m looking at you Christmas Cruelty). Not only has 2023 been a great year for horror but it would also have a lot of festive horror hitting our screens, too. Check out the list below. I hope you enjoy it.

IT’S A WONDERFUL KNIFE

One year later after saving her town from a psychopathic killer, she finds herself depressed and unhappy with her very own existence. She must then find her worth to try and save the town again when a parallel universe throws her back in with the killer she once stopped.

SANTA ISN’T REAL

From the great XYZ FILMS, Santa isn’t Real sounds like it could be a great spin on the old festive horror and home invasion sub-genre.

A woman is viciously attacked and no one believes her that her attacker was none other than Santa Claus. Now, a year later, Nikki and her friends must fight Kris Kringle when he shows up at their holiday cabin with a murderous score to settle.

A CREATURE WAS STIRRING

Starring Scout Taylor-Compton as a girl who must look after her sister who is suffering from a mysterious condition; a monstrous condition that needs drugs to stop her from turning. When a group of criminals break into their house to find shelter from a storm, they unknowingly unleash the creature within this girl.

SILENT NIGHT

OK, so this one ain’t quite a festive horror movie, but it is a badass action film and from the legendary John Woo no less.

As far as I know, this is a dialogue-free Christmas action movie that sees a very angry and non-festive Joel Kinnaman go on a path for vengeance to avenge his family’s death.

THE SACRIFICE GAME

Two residents of a boarding school decide to stay during their Christmas break. Their festive peace and quiet is violently disturbed by the arrival of an evil gang/cult looking to summon a demon.

THERE’S SOMETHING IN THE BARN

I have mentioned Something in the Barn before. This new Norwegian festive horror looks super silly but a silly I can definitely get behind it.

After inheriting a house, a family are stalked by murderous Christmas elves that ain’t too happy about the house’s new residents.

NIGHTMARE ON 34TH STREET

A trailer was recently released for this upcoming festive horror, Nightmare on 34th Street. The film will be an anthology of four festive horror shorts.

That’s it for this list of new festive horror films. I hope you enjoyed it. Ho Ho Ho.
