GERMAN SERIAL KILLER MOVIES – A MOVIEHOOKER LIST

I am back with a new list of German serial killer movies. I’m sure there will be some familiar ones below but I always hope to hook you up with some forgotten gems. Let’s get to it.

ANGST

It was only recently I read that the Co-Ed killer, Ed Kemper has to wait another 7 years before he can stand before a probation board. This man should not see the light for the rest of his days. Ed Kemper is and always will be a cold, calculated necro-killer.

The reason I am mentioning Kemper is simple: this is the plot for Angst – a serial killer who starts to plan a new reign of terror upon his release from prison. Why? because he is addicted to the look of fear in his victims’ eyes before they die.

Angst is the only flick from this list I haven’t seen yet. I was only made aware of this one last year which was a lovely surprise because I had no idea it existed.

The bottom line is to keep those murderous, perverted monsters locked away behind bars for the rest of their lives. People like that should never see the light of day again. If they do, others will die. It’s that simple.

TATTOO

A shamed detective who was caught with drugs at an illegal rave gets tangled up in a vicious murder case in which a woman was found with her tattooed skin flayed off of her back. The detectives then realise that they’re dealing with a ritualistic serial killer with a fetish for flaying tattooed skin.

A lot of people would argue that Tattoo is Germany’s answer to Se7en. We have the same visual tone but, although Tattoo is a great watch – it fell short of being amazing and I wouldn’t put it in the same category as Fincher’s Se7en.

ANTIBODIES

After the murder of a young kid, the police find striking similarities to a serial murder case. But, this killer has been incarcerated in a high-security prison for years. Left clueless and with no other option, a small-town detective travels to the city to interview the notorious serial killer to try and get inside the mind of a killer by using a killer.

If you like serial killer films with an intelligent killer like The Silence Of The Lambs then I think you will find a lot to love with Antibodies.

COLD HELL

An MMA fighter getting a tough time in life, accidentally sees a serial killer brutally slay one of his victims. But, the killer also saw her and is now hellbent on catching and killing her before she can identify him. But, what he doesn’t know is that when pushed to the brink of death, this woman knows how to fight back.

Cold Hell is a fantastic cat-and-mouse type thriller and one of those films where the hunted becomes the hunted.

THE GOLDEN GLOVE

Based on the real-life crimes of German serial killer Fritz Honka. The Golden Glove has been hugely covered on Moviehooker and I can tell you that this film is dirty, violent and extremely graphic. However, it is a brilliant film with a tremendous performance from (at the time) newcomer Jonass Dasler.

I always have to mention the women who portrayed the victims and their dedication to this brutal role.

That is it for this list of German serial killer movies. I hope there are at least one or two in here that you haven’t checked out. If so, approach with caution. You have been warned.
