We are back with a brand new list of New Horror movies featuring folk horror, creature features, serial killers, and the apocalypse. As always, we hope you enjoy it.
NEW LIFE
New Life looks like an interesting new horror hybrid. It follows a woman who believes that she is on the run for murder. What she doesn’t yet know is that she holds a terrifying secret, a secret so dangerous it has the government hot on her tail. If unleashed, a devastating event of apocalyptic proportions will follow.
MONSTER ON A PLANE
Okay, so Monster On A Plane sounds very silly and it is all intentional. This looks like a great throwback to 80s horror and is being widely compared to 80s creature feature, Critters.
A passenger plane holding an exotic animal becomes the feeding ground for it when it mutates into a flesh-hungry creature.
Monster On A Plane is releasing at the end of April 2024. I am not sure what platform it is releasing on but will update the socials when I find out.
WITCH
I don’t know how many productions we have called Witch. I have a soft spot for witch horror but usually, I am left a little underwhelmed. Witch horror has the potential to be terrifying but never quite reaches the heights I’d like to see.
Witch is a folk horror about a woman who is being sentenced to death because people think she is a witch. To save her from the burning stake, a man sets out on a quest to find the real witch who was responsible for the crimes.
RIVER OF BLOOD
A new horror film by Howard J Ford. I was a big fan of his Dead movies, The Dead and The Dead 2: Africa. It seems that Mr Ford has been a busy man of late as he just released another movie called Escape about a group of girls who must fight back against organ traffickers.
River of Blood looks to draw inspiration from movies like Cannibal Holocaust…and, hey, nothing is wrong with that. A group of friends on holiday find themselves on the dinner menu by a group of native cannibals after the raft they are traveling on is destroyed.
DON’T MOVE
Don’t Move is a new serial killer movie featuring a very twisted serial killer. A killer that gives his victims a paralytic agent. One grieving woman is injected and must race against time to find an antidote before her body shuts down.
PRIMITIVE WAR
I reported on this new horror a few weeks back. Primitive War has promised us full-on dino horror, something I have wanted for a long time. Yes, I know there have been some entries but very rarely do they have a budget to do it justice.
Based on two novels, Primitive War follows a squadron who stumble on a prehistoric world when deployed in Vietnam.
The book with a warning stating that there is extreme graphic violence as well as psychological war-torn content. This is not made for children…that is the best news ever for us horror fans!
