Need more westerns with witches? thought so!. Check out the first poster for The Pale Door
THE PALE DOOR
Directed by Aaron B. Koontz & written by Koontz, Keith Lansdale & Cameron Burns,
The Pale Door focuses on train robbers who must go into hiding after a stagecoach robbery goes horribly wrong. The two brothers and a woman seek refuge in an abandoned ghost town that is also home to a coven of witches and some angry flesh-eating wolves.
This sounds fantastic and I am loving the recent growth in dark westerns. We have been treated to some really good ones over the past few years like Brimstone, Bone Tomahawk, Hostiles and more recently IFC’s impressive horror western The Wind. The Pale Door sounds like another welcoming edition into this sub-genre. And if you are a sucker for a good poster then I am sure you will agree with me that this is one of the best posters we have seen all year.
As for the blood-thirsty wolves? well, I am not so sure about that part of the story. I think that has been overdone and there is only so much you can do in regards to the plot. I would much rather have a straight-up witch movie, the possibilities are then endless and the film can go in any chaotic direction. But who knows how it will play out, the Wolves could very well be the best characters in the movie. But, one thing is for sure, that is a damn nice poster!

I am sure a trailer is not that far behind, they usually arrive a day or two after the poster release. I will update the article as soon as it drops. As always, thanks for reading. Hope you have an awesome weekend.
