4 Awesome New Post-Apocalyptic Films

I am back with a short list of 4 upcoming post-apocalyptic survival movies I think you will want to check out

I’ve already had the absolute pleasure of checking out some of the movies on this post-apocalyptic list and I have really enjoyed them. As for the other ones, then I will be getting to them very soon and I will be reporting back. I hope you enjoy. Let’s get to it.

AZRAEL

Starring awesome horror queen Samara Weaving, Azarel is the new film from director E.L. Katz with a screenplay from Simon Barrett (You’re Next). Mr Katz won me over many years ago when he released the insanely enjoyable black comedy Cheap Thrills, so anything this man releases has my attention.

Azrael is set in a new world where no one speaks, a woman escapes from the clutches of an evil satanic cult that is looking for a fresh sacrifice. Expect a lot of blood!

M

M follows a young boy who leaves his home in the forest and embarks on an epic mission through a zombie-infested, plague-filled wasteland in the hopes of finding a bit of humanity.

M will be playing at the year’s Grimmfest so I am hoping to grab a screener for review in the near future. You can check out M and other Moviehooker Grimmfest pics right HERE

YEAR 10

I checked out Year 10 on the big screen at FrightFest and it was quite the experience. Te film is completely dialogue freeand is set ten years after an apocalyptic event has wiped out mankind as we know it and humans have resorted back to their most dangerous, primal state.

It follows a group of survivors in a wooded wasteland who are trying to survive against a group of cannibals and a pack of wild, rabid animals.

PARVULOS

A new apocalyptic coming of age horror from Issac Ezban, director of Evil Eye. The film follows three young brothers who are the survivors of a plague. No one is around any more which has forced the boys to grow up way before they should. But, as responsible as they are, they still can’t come to term with loss – so much so, what they keep in their basement poses a deadly threat to anyone who gets too close.

Parvulos played at this year’s Fantasia Film Festival which we had the pleasure of covering. You can check out my review for Parvulos below.

That is it for this list of post-apocalyptic movies. I guess, I could’ve added in Never Let Go, the new Halle Berry movie, but, sure we all know about that one – add it to your list anyways.
