Los Angeles, CA, September 26, 2024—Scatena & Rosner Films is proud to announce the North American release of the sci-fi action comedy ALIEN COUNTRY from writer-director Boston McConnaughey and co-writer Renny Grames, both of whom own production company Story Mode. Scatena & Rosner Films acquired the film in a deal negotiated between S&R Films Director Gato Scatena & Grames and McConnaughey. ALIEN COUNTRY will release on October 22 on digital and streaming platforms, including iTunes/Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Fandango at Home, Vimeo, DirecTV, Dish Network, Dish Digital, and local cable & satellite providers.

Starring Grames alongside Yellowstone alum K. C. Clyde, Rachele Brooke Smith (The Nice Guys), Austin Archer (The Night Clerk), Dalton Baker (Yellowstone), Corbin Alred (Teen Angel), and beloved child star and social influencer Payton Myler (American Ninja Warrior Junior, Ninja Kids TV), Alien Country follows Jimmy Walker, a local demolition derby driver, who finds out his girlfriend Everly is pregnant, he figures it’s the toughest news he’ll get that day.
Yet, somehow, the two of them also manage to accidentally open a mysterious portal, and a horde of bio-engineered alien creatures are set loose in their small town. Now, in a race against time, these soon-to-be parents must quickly learn to work together and stop the monster invasion, or their town, their planet, and their relationship will face sudden annihilation. Turns out it’s going to be a long day in Alien Country.
“Alien Country may be a balls-to-the-wall, sci-fi action comedy with monster aliens, but at its core, it’s a deeply personal story for me”, said Grames. “I wanted to explore the tough choices I—and many women—face when balancing career and parenthood. Making this movie—as a creative duo with my husband—has been the wildest ride and the film itself is the embodiment of my dreams—and yes, I’m a mom now too.”
Rounding out the rest of the cast are Charan Prabhakar, Jason Wade, Charla Bocchichio, Trey Warner, Sila Agavale, Joseph Reidhead, Barta Heiner, and Dominique Noelle. Alien Country was produced by Renny Grames, Boston McConnaughey, Danny Simeone, and Charan Prabhakar; executive produced by Gordon Angelo Morton.
Alien Country held its World Premiere at the Rhode Island International Film Festival where it won the prestigious grand prize for Best Comedy.
