News: Guillermo del Toro Re-Casts Frankenstein’s monster

Visionary director/writer Guillermo del Toro is finally getting to make one of his dream projects – Frankenstein…and now he has finally found his monster.

Oscar Isaac has been confirmed to star in the leading role as Dr. Victor Frankenstein in Guillermo del Toro’s, Frankenstein. Also starring alongside Issac are Mia Goth, the great Christoph Waltz, David Bradley Felix Kammerer, Christian Convery and Lars Mikkelsen. Now, Deadline reports that Del Toro has cast Saltburn/Euphoria/The Mortuary Collection actor Jacob Elordi as Dr Frankenstein’s monstrous creation. Elordi will replace Andrew Garfield who was previously cast in the role. That is one hell of a cast, right? Things are shaping up well.

Although I would much rather have the news that Del Toro is finally getting to make his vision of H.P Lovecraft‘s At The Mountains Of Madness, Frankenstein also seems like a dark, sad and so beautiful, it’s ugly as sin film for him to tackle. As kids, when we first heard of Frankenstein, we all thought of this hideous abomination that wanted to do nothing but kill. Now, as adults, it’s funny because I am pretty sure you all think the same as me: Frankenstein is a good guy(s). There’s more sympathy now towards the “monster” than there ever was fear. I can’t wait for Del Toro to shock us with outstanding gothic horror visuals while pulling on our heartstrings at the same time.

Frankenstein seems like the perfect material for Del Toro to adapt. The man has been wanting to do it now for over 50 years. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us all. Stay tuned for more information. I shall update this article as more news is announced. As always, thanks for reading.
