Birdeater was featured on a recent Moviehooker list and it looks like this is going to be one of the craziest flicks of 2024
When Aussies go for the bleakness, there’s very little that can compare to the uncomfortable nastiness they create. Now, it looks like we have two new filmmakers in town and their first feature Birdeater is causing quite a stir.
Co-written and directed by new filmmaking duo Jim Weir and Jack Clark, Birdeater throws us into a psychedelic, drug-fueled and blood-soaked nightmare.
The story mainly takes place at a stag-do (Batchellor party in the States). This is the last time the husband-to-be can go wild and party like it was 1999 along with his masculine friends.
But, for some reason, the bride-to-be is also in attendance and when some embarrassing details of their relationship are revealed, the weekend takes a dark and “feral” turn.
As I have been looking forward to this for a while now, it was impossible for me not to check out the trailer. It’s everything I could have hoped for and I can guarantee you, when Birdeater gets going, this one will go straight for your jugular.
