Brandon Cronenberg’s New Horror Infinity Pool: All You Need To Know

Brandon Cronenberg recently announced his next feature film Infinity Pool and as expected, it looks super strange and 100% Cronenbergian. Below, you’ll find release info, trailer, plot and cast. This is definitely one to watch out for!

With only a handful of movies under his belt, Brandon Cronenberg has delivered some of the most unique and mind-bending sci-fi/horror in years. In my opinion, I can see his filmmaking and writing skills strengthen with each film. Every one of them has been great but each flick he releases is better than the previous one. Antibodies were superb, Possessor was a great crime-filled mind-fuck so I really can’t wait to see what’s in store with Infinity Pool.

CAST

Infinity Pool looks to have a really strong cast too. It stars Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth and co-stars Cleopatra Coleman, Thomas Kretschmann and Amanda Brugel. There is a rumour that Robert Pattinson was offered the lead role but refused (I’d say scheduling conflicts because this is something I could see Pattinson doing).

Infinity Pool – When & Where?

The film will have its world premiere at next year’s Sundance Film Festival 2023 –  Elevation Pictures have Canadian distribution rights and Neon will handle the United States. As for us here in Ireland/UK? well, I will keep you posted on that one and update the article when I find out.

Official Plot (IMDb)

James and Em Foster are enjoying an all-inclusive beach vacation in the fictional island of La Tolqa, when a fatal accident exposes the resort’s perverse subculture of hedonistic tourism, reckless violence and surreal horrors.

The trailer really looks fantastic and that is one hell of an ost accompanying it. Complete 100% mind-fuckery. It seems like whoever is composing the OST for this flick has nailed that sense of uneasiness using high-pitched minor string stabs and it’s scary AF yet hauntingly beautiful at the same time.
