Teacup: Trailer and Information on new James Wan series

Well, this was a pleasant surprise to wake up to. Horror maestro James Wan is producing a new horror series released soon called Teacup.

Teacup is a new horror series directed by writer (Yellowstone) turned director Ian McCulloch It is produced by James Wans’ Atomic Monster and McCulloch. It is based on the novel STINGER by Robert McCammon which was firstpublished in 1988.

A first look was revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic Con and it is the sort of reveal that I love. A proper teaser trailer that can be enjoyed by those who refuse to watch trailers. It gives nothing away but maybe shows us what sort of horrors to expect from Teacup, and, boy, I think we’ve some beautifully horrific Lovecraftian-inspired creature design.

Official Plot for Book

In the remote Texas town of Inferno, a creature of evil beyond anything the world has ever encountered descends. He traps the town and ravages the land with grisly executions and horrible mutations . . . until the people rise up in a final, desperate battle.

I love it when something like this happens. I had no idea Teacup was even in production so there will be no wait apart from the soul-destroying wait of weekly episodes. I have no idea if this is some sort of infection. It looks like we have one creature and that creature can infect and cause mutations in human and animal hosts.

The series is due to be released this October on Peacock. We will get two episodes upfront and the rest will be released weekly.
