Festival Goers + Filmmakers, Welcome to Etreum Horror Festival 2025

Etreum Horror Festival will return for its 5th year in June of 2025 and submissions are now open for filmmakers to submit their horror/sci-fi/fantasy/short/documentary – get on it!

Etreum is a one-of-a-kind horror film festival and I will tell you all why. Unlike other festivals, Etreum is a multi-country spanning festival with screenings already taking place in Argentina, Columbia, Spain and Canada. And guess what? Moviehooker has been contacted and we’re currently in the process of expanding it to my little hometown of Derry

Funny how things work out. I held my first movie screening in The Ritz Bar and the first film I chose to screen was Damien Rugna’s award-winning When Evil Lurks. As you all know, When Evil Lurks is from Argentina.

Then, I was contacted by Adrian from Argentina who is one of the top dogs of the festival, a man I like to call the “Horror Connector”. He is building the world’s largest horror filmmaker and content creator super-group. It is a wonderful thing to behold, we’re all there to help and offer whatever support we can. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bit fan-boyed as some of my favourite directors are in this group.

So, there’s the background on how we met, where we are now and most importantly, where things are going.

This is a festival created by horror super fans who now have a promotional vessel to get YOUR film out there to a worldwide audience.
