New Horror Films 2024

I am taking a small break away from the Shudder (Part 4 Coming Soon) content to bring you another list of new horror movies coming your way in 2024

A new horror films list featuring some great upcoming and recently released titles. As always, I’ve a nice mix of genres so, hopefully something there for every type of horror fan. Let’s get to it.

THE WATCHERS

The directorial debut from Ishana Night Shyamalan. The Watchers is set in the beautifully stunning West of Ireland and stars Dakota Fanning.

A woman caught in a mystical forest must remain in a special bunker along with three strangers or she will be devoured by creatures that prowl the forest by night.

Based on The Watchers by A. M. Shine. The film is due for release via Warner Bros next June. Stay tuned for more details as they’re announced

TRIM SEASON

A group of young people think they’ve landed the best job ever: working on a cannabis farm during trim season. They are promised all the weed they can smoke and also a $5.000 cheque after their trimming duties are complete. Things take a dark turn when they notice they’re being constantly watched by masked men with guns. Overworked and exhausted, they must figure out a way to escape before they meet the same horrific fate as other trimmers

.VINCENT MUST DIE

Imagine waking up one morning and realising that the whole world is out to kill you. This is the plot for Vincent Must Die. It sounds like a Hell of a lot of fun. It plays out like a zombie film but it ain’t zombies, it’s pissed-off humans.

Vincent Must Die played on the festival circuit and got some very good reviews.

BAGHEAD

I am always up for some new witch horror I think it is a sub-genre that doesn’t get the love it deserves. This one co-stars the awesome Peter Mullan.  Baghead is a feature-length adaptation of a short of the same name that was released in 2017

A man needs answers that can only be answered by the deceased. He meets Baghead, a witch with the power to summon the dead in the most unusual way.

RAGING GRACE

I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about this new horror, Raging Grace. It focuses on a mother who takes a job as a carer to an old dying man. She is an undocumented Filipino immigrant who wants nothing more than to just support her only child. It ain’t long before she realises the true intentions on why she was hired and starts to piece together a dark secret that’s been buried within the walls of the house

TIGER STRIPES

Tiger Stripes has been receiving some great praise from Indonesian horror maestros, Kimo Stamboel and Timo Tjahanto AKA, The Mo Bros.

The new Indonesian horror focuses on a young teenager when her body starts to go through some unexpected, and horrific changes.

Fans of the body-horror sub-genre are going to want to check out Tiger Stripes. It was recently cut in Malaysia, too. The director said in an interview that the very essence if why she made this movie has been removed.

EVERYONE WILL BURN

Everyone Will Burn is my favourite movie from this list.. The film focuses on a depressed woman grieving the loss of her son who committed suicide. She makes the decision to end her life by jumping from a ridge. A little girl appears just before she is about to end her life and gives her a reason to live once again. But this girl is showing signs of a local legend: a prophecy who is said to bring the apocalypse.

The vibe I am taking from Everyone Will Burn is that this apocalypse starts in this small town. They’re first to bare the apocalyptic wrath because they are hypocrites and all round shitty human beings.

That’s it for this list of New Horror Films.
