We are back with another list. This time we will be focusing on South Korean Revenge Movies that have been released in the last 10-years.
We have said it before, when it comes to the revenge sub-genre, no one can quite hit the mark like South Korea. I have tried to keep the details down to a minimum. I hope you find some gems amongst these films! Lets get to it!
THE VILLAINESS
A highly-skilled deadly assassin seeks revenge on the people who trained her to be the killing machine she is.
Full of fantastic action with some brutal POV slayings!. Beautiful fight choreography – so beautiful that John Wick 3 stole (inspired..cough cough) a whole scene and used it in the movie.
THE GANGSTER, THE COP & THE DEVIL
After a failed attempt on a gangster’s life by a serial killer, gang boss, Ja Dong-soo teams up with a cop to form an unlikely alliance and track down the serial killer.
VETERAN
After one of his colleagues is nearly killed , a detective called Seo Do-cheol seeks revenge on a psychotic rich kid who always seems to be one step ahead of the game.
UNSTOPPABLE
Starring Ma Dong-seok (Don Lee), Unstoppable is an revenge action movie with a little bit of black humour thrown in.
A badass gangster comes out of retirement to hunt down a crime syndicate who has kidnapped his wife.
Nothing really groundbreaking in terms of plot here but Don Lee always puts on such a good show. The film is worth it for his performance alone.

NIGHT IN PARADISE
In a brutal act of revenge, Tae-goo takes down the head of a gang who killed his sister. He then flees to a small island and meets a terminally ill woman who gets caught in the crossfire as the gang come seeking revenge for the murder of their boss.
THE WITCH PART 1: SUBVERSION
A young girl called Ja-yoon escapes from a lab in North Korea and flees to the South where she is taken in by a family who know nothing about her past.
Years later she is approached by a stranger who claims that he knows her true identity. When word gets back to North Korea, her captors come looking for her. But they underestimate Ja-yoon. She starts to remember who she is and gets revenge for what they did to her all those years ago.
MISSING YOU
Hee-Joo lost her father when she was young. at the hand of a a serial killer. But when he was caught, he wasn’t charged and served time for a different crime.
After 15 years, the serial killer is released from prison. Hee-joo has been waiting all those years to get her revenge for her father’s death.
THE DEAL
After a serial killer kills a loved one, a husband and detective team up to bring down the killer both using very different methods; one wants revenge, one wants justice!
THE FIVE
Eun-ah seemed to have it all, and live the perfect life with her happy family. Her world is ripped apart after a serial killer kills her husband and daughter,
She is left paralysed & obsessed with getting revenge on the serial killer. She puts together a unique team, each with their own set of skills. If they catch the killer for her, she will give them the gift of life – her organs.
BROKEN
After his daughter is murdered, Sang-hyun seeks revenge against her killer. But his form of vigilante justice put him on a wanted list for murder.
